This is a smart wine or spirit bottle holder by Mappin & Webb. Their makers mark is stamped underneath. c.1900 British made. Simple raised galleried base with a dimple. Hinged to the front with a twist opening on the looped handle. Circular ring at the top to go around the neck of a bottle. This is sold in original plate with very little wear.
